The Programme

Our Martial arts programme designed for people in all walks of life, from young fit people to people who have got very little time to train but want to defend themselves or for people that are interested in the art.

 
Our methods include kicking and striking pads to develop power and precision, emphasizing correct body mechanics in conjunction with partner drills to heighten your counter and defence skills. Particular emphasis is placed on blending ranges, moving from long range kicking to close range punching and grappling as developed and practised by Bruce Lee.


The Terry Valler JKD & MMA Academy will give you a well rounded view on fighting and self defence and help you to develop your own understanding and awareness of martial arts in general. You will learn how to become a well rounded, proficient martial artist, learning weaponry, kicking, punching, trapping, grappling and much more.

The Arts

This is a brief description on what the arts include. But remember its about using what is applicable at the time

 
Jun Fan Gung Fu
- Bruce Lee's original system. Consisting of kickboxing, trapping and grappling.

Jeet Kune Do
- Bruce Lee's development from Jun Fan Gung Fu. A system free from style, using Striking, clinch, takedowns,trapping, and groundwork, The idea is to take from different systems.

Filipino Martial Arts
-Filipino empty hand Boxing, Single and Double Stick, Single and Double Knife, Stick and Dagger.

Thai Boxing
- Stand up martial art consisting of punching, kicking, knees and elbows.

PFM Clinch Fighting & Grappling
- Stand up wrestling and clinch fighting. Including Greco, Freestyle, Catch  Wrestling and Thai

Submission Wrestling/ No Gi Ju Jitsu
- Combination of Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Catch Wrestling and Submission Grappling.

 
Karate
 The Karate taught here is a mix of Shotokan and Goju Ryu

As well as learning martial art's you will also benefit from:

    Your first class at the academy is free. We welcome you to join the class and have a go. Just wear loose, comfortable clothing and trainers. No need to ask, just turn up.
